Climbing at 9th Street

Jonathan took Lizzie and I climbing at the top of 9th Street in Ogden for the very first time. You can drive up pretty close to the wall, but there is a bit of hike (more like walk) to get to the wall.

On the walk up to and near the wall there was tons of Myrtle Spurge. I have never seen succulents in the wild before! I could not believe how beautiful it was.

When we got to the wall there was a father there with his two sons and a daughter just a bit older than Lizzie. Seeing this girl climb, fall, and trust the rope without fear helped Lizzie conquer some of her inhibitions. On this climbing excursion she also decided it was a lot easier to climb without shoes. Dad was proud, but it made mom quite nervous!

We all climbed and conquered some of our fears. As dad finished packing up the gear (don't worry, we helped cleaned up too) we had to take some scenery shots. We even had Dad come over for a group shot.

Overall we had a BLAST! We got to climb and get some fresh air. We made some climbing friends and even exchanged phone numbers. We also got to see a fantastic view. We will be back here to climb again... hopefully soon!
