Hobbit Caves and China Wall

Saturday we headed up into Logan Canyon to do some rock climbing. It was the coolest day of the week here in Utah and we thought we had adequately prepared for the cooler weather. But alas when we arrived it was raining! So instead of climbing a wet and slippery rock wall we did some exploring.

These cute little caves are just a short 15 minute drive into the canyon from the ranger station at the mouth of the canyon. There is plenty to see and explore in this little area and it would be great to have a picnic.

Lizzie was scrambling all over the caves. Before we knew it she would be up over the top and scaring the crap out of us. She thought it was pretty cool, but as her parents we did not find it so amusing.

The place was beautiful. Spring is still springing in Logan Canyon and these were everywhere. We drove through the canyon on Memorial Day, less than two weeks previously, and I couldn't believe the difference. So much greener! So much more growth! So much more water in the river!

Our next stop was to check out China Wall. Its a little bit of a walk to the wall, but it is a quite a site to see.

This wall has one of the most difficult climbs in North America. We are all using it for our climbing goal. Lizzie says she will climb it someday.

There were so many pretty sights along this walk. These were just a few of the beautiful things mother nature had to show us that day. Anybody know what these plants are?
